The Fallen Knight

Jeremy and his wife were in Europe backpacking, when one day they stopped at an inn. The couple moved to a table inside, and waved for the innkeeper.
“How may I help you today?” He asked
“We’d like directions.” Jeremy stated. “We’re going north, but aren’t sure which road to take.”
“Oh, well then you’d want to stay here for the night and cut through the meadow.”
Jeremy thought the old man was just trying to obtain more business before two people leave his inn. “Linda, we’ll go through the meadow tonight.”
“You shouldn’t do that sir.” Said the innkeeper. “At night the Knight comes out and murders any he finds.” Jeremy’s wife shrieked. Jeremy was still doubtful, and went anyways.

The couple found the meadow easily, and they were just about half way through, when they heard footsteps heading their way. Jeremy turned and looked, only to see a suit of armor coming towards him, from about twenty yards away.
A hollow voice rang out, “Hail Traveler!” The suit stops, an arrow sticking out of the armor creaks slightly. “I would have a duel with thee.” The suit tossed a sword across the field to Jeremy.
            “I won’t!” Jeremy exclaimed aloud.
“If you refuse, I shall take the life of your wench!”
Jeremy uttered a curse word under his breath, and grabbed the sword, he rushed at the suit. He went to slash, and nearly hit the arrow, which made the suit of armor freak out. In its wild frenzy, the suit chopped off Jeremy’s arm.
Jeremy fell to the ground in shock. The suit stood over him, and plunged the blade into his chest.
“So it is done.” The suit rang out. It was content with another victim, and started to walk away. Linda ran towards the hunk of metal, and gripped the arrow shaft as tightly as she could. She pulled with all of her might, and suddenly, the armor was gone. She looked back, upset that she lost her husband, but happy that this would never happen to anyone else ever again.
