Bugaboo

An original poem by: Justin H.
It Lies Waiting Until You’re Alone,
It Waits To Pounce And Gnaw Your Bones,
To Rip OFF Your Skin And Claw Out Your EYES,
And Chew Out Your Throat To Stop Your CRIES.

It Growls And Howls Like A Thunderstorm,
Your Deepest Fears Have Taken Form.
No Child Is Safe From Its Vile Grasp,
Terrible Face Under Terrible Mask.
IT Drinks The Blood And Wears The SKIN,
And Teeth Like Needles Fill Its GRIN.
IT Opens Its Mouth And Releases Its BREATH,
The STINK Of Decay, The SMELL of DEATH.

Its EYES GLEAM BRIGHTLY IN THE NIGHT,
SO MOTHERS HOLD YOUR CHILDREN TIGHT,
IT’S THERE NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO,
THE CHILD-EATING BUGABOO.
