My Last Tear

An original poem by: Koalafied Poet

With a heart of sorrow,
I mourn tomorrow,
A love I lost,
With much a cost.

Tears like diamonds in the sky,
Testaments to why I cry,
Her love so sweet,
Expectations I could not meet.

I tried and tried all in vain,
On my heart a blackened stain,
Her love so kind,
An affliction of my mind.

In my life out of reach,
To my soul I must teach,
Her heart always far away,
To keep my love alone at bay

Into the dark night I look,
Shackles on my heart I took,
Her love that makes me bleed,
My heart wilting like a weed.

Gazing at the stars above,
Wishing I hadn’t been in love.
Tearing me from this life,
With her love as a knife.

Her love always in the light
My soul fading into the night.
Her laughter all I hear,
As I shed one last tear.
