School Spirit?!

Homecoming is quickly approaching, and what do we plan on doing to show our school spirit? The same thing we've done for the past two years... next to nothing. How do we expect to win if we don't show home spirit and pride? How do we expect our teams to emerge victoriously? It's a miracle we emerge at all! If our players can win every now and then with this little bit of pride we show, imagine what a little more spirit would do. Show our teams we care!

Can you believe we haven't had a pep rally in almost two years?! Some schools have pep rallies before every game.  I personally have been to three different schools besides this one, and this is by far the longest I've ever seen a school go without one. Occasionally, you'll see a few kids wearing SVHS shirts or hoodies, and maybe a few head bands every now and then. That's not NEARLY enough
enthusiasm to achieve victory!

We have a whole week dedicated to school spirit, and hardly anyone participates. The few who do usually go all out, but it’ll take a lot more than just a few people cheering to get our players pumped. You’re supposed to have the most pride for the place you’re educating yourself. Why don’t we show it? In my opinion, more people would participate in Spirit Week if we made it more fun. Decorations in the hallways, school projects, pep rallies, and more! Some after school activities with booths for face painting and food along with our usual academic functions could be really fun and possible even attract more people!

These ideas won’t get us anywhere if no one speaks up. You may think that you’re just another student; maybe someone else will show enough spirit so you don’t have to. We need everyone’s help, including yours! There is strength in numbers and our numbers add up to the Timber Wolves! Let’s start acting like it!
